Welcome to episode 30 ofOpen Culture VOICES! VOICES is a vlog series of short interviews with open GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums) experts from around the world. The Open Culture Program at Creative Commons aims to promote better sharing of cultural heritage in GLAMs collections. With Open Culture VOICES, we’re thrilled to bring you various perspectives from dozens of experts speaking in many different languages on what it’s like to open up heritage content online. In this episode, we hear fromJulia Pagel, secretary general ofNEMO, the Network of European Museum Organisations. Before starting to work for NEMO, Julia worked as project manager at the German Museums Association. Julia was a member and Vice-President of the Executive Committee of Culture Action Europe, a major European culture umbrella network. Since 2019 she is a member of the EU Commission Expert Group on Cultural Heritage, and since 2021 she is an Advisory Board member of Europeana. Julia has initiated numerous international cooperation projects in the museum field around capacity building and organizational transformation.
